Dream Of The Harpy

A new client experienced what he felt was an important and transcendent dream and wished for an interpretation through Tarot.....

Dream interpretation for me is a meditative session in which I rely upon my guide Sissel 1846 to channel nuanced detail and insight. I frequently slip into a theta state while touching the cards and experience profound moments of clarity that dissipate soon after I write up my notes. I utilize Tarot in a spontaneous and conversational style, just as I do in mediumship, but still respecting certain contexts useful to understand the construct of dreams. In dreams, the language of spirits is spoken fluently, therefore these types of readings typically generate sophisticated numbers patterns in the cards and will communicate abstract concepts seen in advanced Tarot work.

THE DREAM
The dream begins with the Dreamer standing near a faded wall in a run-down building, an abandoned office structure he perceives as filled with many conference rooms and planning areas. He wanders down a decrepit old hallway and marvels at how lucky he is to have found this place—he will live here now, it will be his new home. He recognizes how strange it is to do this and understands it to be a privilege.

His attention is caught by movement in a long window at the end of the hallway. He observes from the distance that he is up high in this building, an upper floor, and it is a pale, cold-looking afternoon. As he draws near the window, he sees outside a wide stone ledge. There is huge nest in the shadow of the ledge, with two black ravens squawking and dancing around its perimeter. As he presses his nose to the glass to look closer, he sees a dead raven in a state of partial decomposition, half skeleton, half feathers, its legs wrapped in a dirty cord entangled throughout the nest. Presumably, it died there.

Suddenly, a shadow blocks the sky—a massive Harpy eagle flies up from the cityscape below, its huge wings spread wide as it alights upon the ledge. The Dreamer is incredulous at seeing such a bird and reaches for his phone to take a photo, only to realize he does not have it and by the time he could retrieve it, the Harpy would probably be gone. He stays to take in the experience, but it does not last long—the Harpy flies away as suddenly as it arrived.

The Dreamer is disappointed, but he knows the nest is the Harpy’s and it will come back again. His attention is then drawn to the ravens, who have transformed into wizened and pleasant-looking older ladies, crouching within the nest with their knees drawn up into their skirts. Curious, he reaches for a knob on the window and unsuccessfully jiggles it to force it open. He intends to question who they are, but the ladies seem to read his mind—they say not to bother, they will all meet soon—they will see him in a new study group, and are excited at the prospect of it.

THE READING
During the shuffling of the Tarot cards, the dream’s context was revealed to be about spirit emissaries wishing to connect with the Dreamer and impart a message—something obvious enough in its telling. Here are are some of the highlights….

Thematically, this dream conveys details about a proposed collaboration with certain spiritual entities, the purpose is to open the Dreamer’s mind to greater revelations that exist in close proximity to him—he is on the verge of understanding a whole new set of truths. Therefore, the offer of outside assistance is being made—specifically, the Dreamer is being given an opportunity to find revelation through alternative means. Presumably, whatever way he has ‘learned’ about spiritual stuff in the past is no longer viable.

The office building represents an environment of older, possibly forgotten, ignored or neglected knowledge. It is also a place of spiritual commerce and exchange. It being the Dreamer’s new residence, located on the higher-up floor….tells us he has already managed to reach a more evolved form of otherworldly insight, enough to move him upwards into an obviously higher tier of spiritual study. I suspect…he has visited this place in the past (in a dream), in childhood perhaps, but did not stay. He could not understand the purpose of this place back then, but now it has been opened to him. This is why he must learn new methods, to learn to ‘see’ on this greater plane of comprehension.

More than one spirit entity wishes to engage in a proposed collaboration with the Dreamer. These are new guides who specialize in a specific area of occult study—they inhabit this plane of existence and are familiar with these conference rooms. New guides are also necessary, not just because the spiritual plane is more advanced, but because a former voice the Dreamer once relied upon is now silent. Prior methods of spiritual exploration/study will no longer serve him well. Whether these are human or spirit teachers, my guess is that recently the Dreamer has been disappointed in his interactions with them, and he will find a rejuvenation of enthusiasm when immersed in this new energy.

The Harpy is most interesting to me—I am sure that the Dreamer would recognize its essence in the form of something brazenly impactful that has recently been interjected into his waking life, something clearly not of this world. The Harpy must be something profound that has happened to him—perhaps a moment of transformational revelation or a supernatural incident—something fleeting but powerful which he really needs to grasp and study in detail in order to comprehend its meaning. This manifestation in ‘real life’ awakened him to some unsettling truths, some which he believes in and others which he suspects are true—but he needs help to lead him to even greater revelations about these things.

In sum, this dream appears to be an invitation to the Dreamer to continue receiving revelations or downloads about spiritual truths/laws he has lately discovered. If the Dreamer wishes to explore more complex, mysterious things in the spiritual sense, he will find assistance if he asks for it. Likely this will occur in episodes of claircognizance, or supernatural things occurring in the waking world—hardcore synchronicities that he should keep watch for, and symbols/signs he should be willing to follow to see where they will lead.

That being said, the Dreamer has had just a tiny taste of what awaits him. If the Dreamer wishes to continue exploration of this new spiritual path he has been walking, he should understand that it will further disconnect him from his physical world identity—whatever knowledge and wisdom he acquires by following these otherworldly guides, it will come with some personal tribulation, and he will have to adapt somehow. Chances are he will be fine. It will be a grand adventure.

THE OUTCOME
The Dreamer was a new client, and came to the reading having provided no background about his life. He had an emotional reaction to the interpretation as it directly reflected a strange and mystical experience of note, something that recently shifted his entire viewpoint of the world—he was indeed anticipating a whole new trajectory in his spiritual quests, driven by a new and unquenchable curiosity as a result of this incident.

The cards drawn in this dream interpretation reading were 3 Swords/Wheel of Fortune (10=1), Ace of Wands/the Hanged Man (12=3), Ace of Cups/3 Pentacles, 9 Wands/Temperance. Patterns of 3 and 1 in mediumship/channeling sessions nearly always involve an invitation to connect and collaborate, and here we have three repeating instances of this. This ‘odd man’ pattern of 9/14 (9 Wands/Temperance) in the language of spirits refers to conflict in adapting to supernatural influences, and certainly it indicates the need for the Dreamer to remain calm on the journey to come, as weird (and weirder) things are likely to unfold.
